  1. I am not exactly sure what you mean by this, but I will give it a go anyway...

It sounds like the question is why is it beneficial to have a knowledge base of behavior patterns and reasons.

For me, it is helpful to understand behavior information and patterns of understanding how behavior happens and why children organize themselves, even why adults organize themselves into the groups and "cliques" they do.  Watching the interactions of children and peers give me insight to their thoughts, which lends itself to insight for their work.

For example, a student on the playground who constantly rallies the other children up, getting them excited for whatever reason is often the same child that can't get an assignment done in the classroom.  Their work is scattered and unorganized.

Another student might wander around alone on the playground.  That same child doesn't like to work in groups and prefers to work independently for everything.

Another child might be one who on the playground organizes the games, tries to include children who don't always play, and wants to make sure everyone is playing fair.  That same child might be extremely organized in the classroom, and is one who finishes their work independently and quickly and moves on to help others.

There are courses and texts and other books available that further explain these behaviors and their possible undertones.  I find them very interesting!

    hope this helps!
