What are some of the advantages of running at an incline on a treadmill? I don't know if I should focus on speed on using an incline? Thanks

  1. Running on an incline on the treadmill is meant to simulate running up a hill. It all depends on what your goal is for running. If you want to race I would suggest that you fluctuate incline and no incline throughout your run. However, if you are just looking to exercise then either one will do. Running on the incline setting will just help with your stamina and workout your calves a lot more than running just flat. If you are looking to get faster I would suggest just running not on incline and just increase the speed, however if you want the best results I would suggest run on the road not a treadmill, you get a much better workout and you can adjust your running style (hills, flat, fast, jog) a lot easier. I know that treadmills have the convince factor but street running is much better. I hope this helps!
