Benelli supernova vs. remington 870?

Question

i am looking at a new pump shotgun. does anyone have any experience with either of these guns, good or bad? i am looking for personal opinions for both. i am leaning towards the benelli supernova because i have read great reviews about it, it is a newer model and i want something more modern looking. does anyone have any suggestions?

The Remington 870 is a fine shotgun.... Sure that Benelli is a sharp shotgun but its not made in USA -- Keep jobs here... The Reliablity of the Remington 870 is unparralled........

you really cant go wrong with either. The nova is a great gun and the 870 is tough as nails. But overall benelli makes the better shotgun so i say nova wins a close one

hunter h is dead on you will be happy with both but the nova is of slightly higher qaulity

it is interesting that you ask that because i am asking myself the exact same question but i think i will go with the benelli because it is a little bit more advanced and probably will retain it's value better

Depends on the shooter.

The Benelli SuperNova would be better for defense purposes since it is composed of the more rugged composite hardware.

The 870 would be better suited for the field. Wood hardware, excellent user ergonomics aimed toward hunters, and it just plain looks good.

They are both excellent shotguns. I have an 870 but the supernova can take 3 1/2" magnum shells which is good for shhooting birds such as geese at longer ranges. But which ever one you choose they wount let you down.

I strongly recommend the Rem 870. I have personally owned this model and the number of upgrades available, the ease of disassembly and lower price make it a superior choice.
