Benesova/ Zakopalova oust wildcard Han/ Kim in 1st round – Hansol Korea Open 2011
Third seeded team of Iveta Benesova along with Klara Zakopalova ousted the Korean wildcard duo of Sung-Hee Han with So-Jung Kim in the doubles first round of the Hansol Korea Open 2011. The squads battled it out for just fifty
two minutes of the match on 22nd of September 2011. Winning in a straight set victory was the third seeded Czech pair (Benesova/ Zakopalova) with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over their opponents.
Inaugurating the first set were the Czech pair, and both the teams managed to win on their respective serves to round off the score at 1-1 and were quick to place themselves on the score board.  In the following two games the players
won on alternate games to reef off the score at 2-2.
During the fifth and sixth game, Benesova and Zakopalova not only held their serve but also were first to break their adversaries by smashing a forehand winner down the line. By the end of the seventh game, Benesova and Zakopalova
had held their serve and were secretly wishing that their opponent’s double fault. Fortunately for them Han/ Kim’s forehand went wayward during their second game and they ended up sanctioning the opening set to Benesova and Zakopalova.
Benesova and Zakopalova had kept a geometric precision throughout the opening set and did not set up a single break point opportunity for their rivals. While, at the same time they also capitalized on 80 percent of total service
points won.
Amidst the second set, Han/ Kim were to serve first and the two teams conquered the first two games on their respective serves and had expertly tied the score at 1-1. Neither of the squads wanted the other to take a lead but in
the third game Benesova and Zakopalova capitalized on a mini break and then held their serve in the fourth game to take a mini lead of 3-1.
Dominating from the very start, Benesova and Zakopalova then went on to breaking their opponents in the last three games twice to reel off the second set without much opposition.
The Czech pair were stronger players compared to the Korean duo, as they not only setup a break point chance in the first set but also in the second and by accomplishing almost twice as many points as the unseeded team they achieved
a near flawless second set victory.
With an easy breadstick victory in the second game, Benesova and Zakopalova bagged the match and were able to secure a place in the quarterfinal of the event where they will be facing the top seeded pair of Natalie Grandin and
Vladmira Uhlirova.
