Benfica defender Joan Capdevila is reportedly wanted by Italian giants Juventus, who will be looking to add a top class left-back when the transfer window re-opens in January 2011.

In the twilight of his glittering career, the veteran was looking to ply his trade in a league where he would be able to cope with the pace and earn a decent salary. However, his stint in the Primeira Liga has not gone according to plan.
Failing to register documents in time with UEFA, Capdevila has endured an unnecessary spell on the sidelines while his teammates enjoyed a lucrative tie with English Premier League giants, Manchester United.

Following this, rumours began to emerge that Italian outfit Napoli were interested in obtaining the services of the Roja International and could make a potential offer in January.
His agent, Horacio Gaggioli also commented on the situation and said that his client might be willing to make the switch to Stadio San Paolo.
"Can Capdevila leave for Napoli? Certainly, Napoli are a very important club and he would accept them with great pleasure.”
The agent also said that he will inquire with Benfica, whether Capdevila could pursue his career at another club other when the transfer window re-opened.
"I will meet Benfica soon and see if there is a chance he could leave [in January].” The representative said.
Now it seems as if alongside their rivals, Juventus have also registered interest in the Spaniard, making the battle to land his signature even fiercer.
