Benfica's Joan Capdevila would be open to a move to Napoli, says agent – Liga Sagres News
After falling down the pecking order at Benfica, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joan-Capdevila-c18631 would be willing to accept a transfer to Italian giants Napoli, according to the player’s agent, Horacio Gaggioli.
Signing for Benfica in the summer transfer window, much was expected of Joan Capdevila at Estadio da Luz but so far the defender has failed to win over any of his critics during his spell in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Originally thought to be the man-to-man replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Jesus’s first team at the helm, let alone be the attacking outlet that Coentrao was in Lisbon.
Struggling to get decent run of games under his belt in his new surroundings, the former Villarreal man has been ousted by fellow new signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emerson-c12442, for the left-back position. His present situation has left him stranded and saw him make only one appearance
in the league, while he has not even made Benfica’s UEFA Champions League squad.
Eager to get back on the right track in the twilight of his career, Capdevila could well be on his way out of the club in January with his agent, Horacio Gaggioli, stating that his client would be open to a move to Serie A outfit http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003.
"Can Capdevila leave for Napoli? Certainly, Napoli are a very important club and he would accept them with great pleasure,"
"I will meet Benfica soon and see if there is a chance he could leave [in January].” The representative said
Although Gaggioli revealed that Capdevila could possibly be plying his trade in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, come January, he reiterated that he was not sure whether Napoli were actually interested in the left-back.
"I don't know if Napoli are really interested in him, but he is a player who does interest teams,” the agent was quoted as saying.
With his place at Benfica is likely to be usurped by Emerson permanently, it is highly unlikely that Joan Capdevila will still be playing for the Reds after January and he will probably seek a transfer away from the club.
