Benfica's Rodrigo returns full of confidence after netting a hat-trick with the Spanish U21 team
Benfica striker Rodrigo is brimming with confidence after netting a hat-trick with the Spanish U21 team and now aims to replicate his performances for his employers in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
The 20-year-old was the star of the show in the U21 clash between http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Georgia-c2903 and managing to net a memorable hat-trick as La Roja cruised to a 7-2 victory. He continued his fine performances in a repeat of the fixture, allowing his country to get
the better of their opponents for a second time in a row with a 2-0 win.
Rodrigo now returns to Benfica with a spring in his step and revealed that he was not only feeling better than ever but was also in a cheery mood following a superb display.
"I feel good, even better. I'm happy, “he said.
The attacker also said while he was unable to score in consecutive games in Red Fury colours, he still managed to lay on assists for his teammates, something which is worth mentioning as it is crucial in a match.
"In the first game, I made three goals and did not to score in the next fixture. But it also contributes to a service.”
He saved the best for last and piled praise on coach Luis Milla, who had given him his big chance by selecting him for the U-20 World Cup, which recently concluded on August 20.
"But most important was to have received the trust of the coach, who allowed me to participate in the Under-20 World Cup. I am very happy for this opportunity to play in the sub-21. And for helping to achieve the collective goal of winning,” the attacker
was quoted as saying.
Although now boasting an impressive record on the International front, Rodrigo is still limited in his role at Benfica partly due to the presence of proven stars such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Saviola-c18090.
The duo has been firing on all cylinders since the start of the season and are unlikely to be shipped off the starting eleven due to their valuable experience, leaving little place for youngsters in the line-up.
