Benfica boss Jorge Jesus has revealed that he is keeping tabs on the progress of arch-rivals FC Porto and tries to watch all their matches, not only because it was a part of his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 but also to prepare his team for their face-off.
The current Portuguese champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186, are riding on top of the league table and look like a force to be reckoned with despite the departures of some high profile players. Behind them in the standings are Benfica, who are also chasing their title dream.
After last winning the Primeira Liga in 2010, the Reds are eager to get another taste of silverware and their coach Jorge Jesus is doing a lot of scouting to ensure that his side prevails this season.
Jorge Jesus, 57, has been attending his rivals’ matches in a bid to determine their tactics and also to prepare his players for the challenges they might face in the upcoming fixtures.
Speaking to the reporters, the trainer said it was his job to monitor the progress of other teams and he always tries to watch as many league games as possible.
"I always try to be aware of all the teams playing in our league and have seen many games of FC Porto. I try to always find time to watch all my opponents.”
Jesus also said that with the amount of spending their cross-city rivals Sporting Lisbon had done over the summer, they are bound to be one of the title contenders and will make the League much more competitive this campaign.
