Benfica full-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011
Portuguese international and Benfica superstar, Fabio Coentrao, has gone on to finally reveal that he would only part ways with the Portuguese club, if it was to play for Real Madrid in Spain.
Coentrao was previously being linked with a move to the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-Carvalho-c30973,
who are all currently employed by Madrid.
The twenty three year old, when talking about his future is reported to have said: "What I want is to play for Real Madrid. They are the best club in the world, the only one I will leave Benfica for"
Coentrao then went on to admit to the fact that the wheels were not yet in motion, regarding the potential move, but something might come up in the near future.
"Of course, I am happy at being liked by Real Madrid, but nothing has been done yet. We have to be tranquil. Madrid are the best in the world, they have the best players in the world and I have plenty of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Friends-football-club-c39381 there"
"But, like I said, there is nothing yet. But I hope a deal can go ahead."
The player then went on to admit that he has constantly been in contact with his Portuguese team mates at the club and went on to state: "Of course I speak with Cristiano [Ronaldo], Pepe and [Ricardo] Carvalho, but I am still a Benfica player even though I
am interested in playing for Real Madrid.”
From the looks of things, Madrid might just be on the verge of landing another player at the end of the season. The team has already gone on to sign Sahin and Altintop and they might just be getting another full-back.
However, should Madrid land the Portuguese defender, it is unclear as to what would happen to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554. The Brazilian has been brilliant at Madrid all season long and has easily been the most improved Madrid player this season.
Jose Mourinho is probably well aware of this fact and has probably also noted that the Brazilian can play equally as well in attack as he does in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904, meaning that he might still end up retaining his spot in the Spanish club, should Coentrao be signed.
It is unclear as to how much Madrid would have to fork out for Coentrao, but a fee of around eighteen million pounds, might just help them land their man.
