Portuguese giants, Benfica, will allow want away left-back, Joan Capdevila, to leave the club when the transfer window re-opens in January according the player’s agent. The Spanish International had hardly featured for the Reds after arriving in the summer
and his representative has revealed that his client will seek new employers in the upcoming months.

With his status as an unwanted asset in Lisbon, Capdevila has been touted to leave Liga Sagres and his agent claims that will happen in January with a return to Espanyol a likely route.
Speaking to reporters, the representative said that he had a struck a deal with the Eagles that they will allow the player to leave if a suitable proposal was made but revealed that a hefty transfer fee would still be required.
"I have an agreement with Benfica so that Capdevila can leave in January, in case an offer arrives. But Benfica will not let him leave on the cheap, because they invested €2.8 million to sign him, plus his salary and they want to recover most of that figure.”
He also said that his client would be happy to a make a return to Estadi Cornellà-El Prat, where he is likely to play until he decides to hang up his boots.
"He would be very happy to join Espanyol and that would be a great way to end his career," Horacio Gaggioli was quoted as saying.
With Benfica and the player both looking to part ways with each other, Joan Capdevila is likely to leave the Primeira Liga shortly, with Espanyol as his probable destination.
