Benfica’s Nolito and Bruno Cesar likely to be out for the game against FC Porto – Report
Benfica’s Nolito and Bruno Cesar are likely to miss this weekend’s Primeira Liga derby against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186, as the two have been unable to recover from their injuries and will be on the sidelines for the crucial tie.
Arguably the biggest game of the Portuguese season takes place in a mouth-watering clash at Estadio do Dragao on Sunday.
Title favourites and current champions, Porto, take on their most bitter rivals, Benfica, in their own backyard. Both teams are neck and neck in the standings, but the Dragons lie first due to their superior goal difference.
However, the Eagles are on a great run of form and have countered powerhouses like Manchester United going into this game. Quite opposite to their opponents who suffered a shock draw against Feirense over the weekend.
While Jorge Jesus’s men may have the upper hand on their rivals when it comes to the last string of results, they will sorely be missing key players like Nolito and Bruno Cesar when they travel to Estadio do Dragao.
Signed from Barcelona in the summer, Nolito has been nothing less than a sensation during his time in Lisbon. The attacker has scored goal after goal for his new employers and has become one of the most prolific players at Estadio da Luz.
Netting twice in his side’s rout of Academica, the Spanish striker would be a fearsome figure in the intimidating Reds line-up. However, unluckily for Jorge Jesus, Nolito will have to be content with a spot on the sidelines rather than a starting role.
Joining him on the treatment table is Bruno Cesar, who is also ruled out for the mouthwatering fixture. While it is still not certain when the duo will make their return, it can be confirmed that they are unlikely to take part in any footballing action this
weekend.
Without their in-form attacker, it remains to be seen how Benfica will fare against FC Porto, who will be looking to gain nothing other than three points when the two sides meet.
