Bengals’ rookie wide receiver A.J. Green waits for game-time decision to play Sunday – NFL News
The Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Adriel Jeremiah Green is waiting for a game-time decision on his possibility of participation in their Sunday’s game against Ravens
Green missed out the Wednesday practice session due to his injury, with his chances for the Bengals' Sunday hanging in the balance.
He had suffered a hyper extended right knee in their game against Pittsburgh Steelers last week. He was out of the game during the second half because of the injury.
The Bengals at 6-3 are heading into the week 11 of the current season of the American football league, National Football League (NFL), and will face Baltimore Ravens for the Sunday game. Ravens are sharing with them the second
position at 6-3 in the American Football Conference (AFC) north division after Pittsburgh Steelers.
According to A.J.Green an MRI test has revealed that it was only a bone bruise in his knee and no ligament damage, so he was hopeful for the next weekend's game.
“I feel pretty good. It’s just a little stiff and I’m taking it day by day and resting it. We’ll see how it goes through the whole week," Green said.
The news that the player did not suffer the ligament damage has come as a major confidence boost for the Bengals who are already missing out a number of players due to injuries. One of the reasons for Bengals to worry if the rookie
does not participate in the next weekend's game is that he plays in the role of starter for them. In case the he is unable to play, Bengals will have Jerome Simpson and Andre Caldwell as alternate options for starting role.
Bengals are also holding out defensive end Frostee Rucker with knee injury, cornerback Nate Clements also with knee injury, defensive end Jonathan Fanene due to illness, running back Brian Leonard with knee injury, tight end Donald
Lee, Safety Chris Crocker with knee injury and Adam Jones due to groin injury.
Bengals have recorded five consecutive wins before losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday. This week, they are playing the Baltimore Ravens in a crucial tie. In case of win they will be sharing lead with the Steelers in
the points table in the AFC North.
