  1. Take a boat trip from Benidorm http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3119/2457... about an hour away is Calpe.http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3170/2598...

This is a little resort, really beautiful, the only reason we went to Benidorm is because we wanted a quick week- end away in April to celebrate my fiance's 40th birthday.

She had a fear of flying so I wanted a short flight from Luton.

From the top of the rock on a clear day you can see Ibiza, if you think the rock looks familiar, it is, the original Spanish residents of the Rock of Gibraltar moved here when the British took it over, they renamed this place Calpe, the original name of the Rock of Gibraltar.

  2. yes, Portugal

  3. Menorca, as someone already mentioned, is really nice. If you want to stay on mainland Spain I'd say Torrevieja.

  4. Albir - is approx 10minutes by bus ( lots available) from benidorm, nice and quiet good beach lots of bars and resturants but with easy access into Benidorm.

Denia is beautiful - further up the coast very spanish and traditional with a nice harbour area.

We have done all 3 - Benidorm was fine in March but would not really like to go back in july /august - however if i did i would make sure it is the levente area or old town as this seemed a nicer area.

    Have fun !!!

  5. if your looking for a quieter place to relax on holiday with the med in mind, take a look at Menorca, quiet sleepy Island with fantastic coves and beaches, the locals are friendly and the entertainment is great i stayed at the Arkadianos complex, water park just across the road and a little further you have inflatables for the kids plenty of places to eat and in the local town which although small has a great variety of goods even a little Tesco's
