http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s manager, Rafa Benitez has gone on to insist that he doesn’t care much for the club’s fans and how they treat him and the players when they return to London.
The Blues went on to face off against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Corinthians-c38855 in the finals of the World Club Championship, and despite the London based club being hailed as the favourites to win the game, they went on to lose out to their opponents.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 managed to find the back of the net in stoppage time against
all odds. However, his effort was deemed to be scored from an offside position, and hence the goal wasn’t given.
As a result, Chelsea went on to lose the finals and are now heading home empty handed.
Benitez is well aware of the fact that he is going to have to face off against a very hostile Chelsea fan base when he lands back in London.
Given that he is well aware of what might happen, he has gone on to state that his team played rather well in the game, and that despite what the fans say, he is more than happy with how things are going.
However, he also stated that he will be looking to get the team to improve even further, as he wants them to perform even better in their coming games.
"I don't think I am worried about what the reception of supporters will be back in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Monterrey-c39943 and today we did well too," Benitez told reporters.
"It is still early, we need to improve day after day, and week after week, and win games.”
"As we return we have Leeds and Villa, we will go back fighting for the next challenges. We'll begin to prepare seeing who is available, we'll study the opposition, see what we have to do.”
"We must work on the positives and I have seen lot of positives here, we played against a good team, but still had plenty of chances, still we need to improve.”
