Chelsea’s newly appointed manager, Rafa Benitez is hoping that Shakhtar Donetsk will help the Blues out in their Champions League progress, by beating Juventus in their upcoming game.
Shakhtar Donetsk are set to take on Juventus in the last game of the Champions League group stages, and only a loss for the Italian side would leave Chelsea with any chance of progressing to the next round of the contest.
The London based club need to go on and beat Nordsjaelland, while Juventus need to lose their game, in order for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 to make it to the knock out stages of the competition.
At this point in time, Shakhtar have already gone on to ensure their progress to the next round of the Champions League. Despite many assuming that this would make the team perform poorly, Benitez feels that the team will be looking to perform even better
in their coming games, as they look to prove just how good they really are.
Benitez is also hoping for this new found spirit to help his side out, and ensure their stay in the Champions League for the time being.
The Chelsea boss is reported to have said: "We know that a draw would be bad for us but the positive thing is that Shakhtar has a lot of good players and everybody is talking about them, so they have to show the rest of the world that they are really good
players.”
"When you know the top sides in Europe or in the world are watching you then you have to perform. Obviously, Juve will go for the win but Shakhtar will need to show this level that they have.”
"They might finish second and have to play against one of the top sides in Europe and it will be more difficult, so I think they will try to win."
Last season, Chelsea went on to win the Champions League and surprise just about everyone by doing so. Should the team be able to reproduce a similar feat this season, they would easily go on and establish themselves as being one of the best teams on the
European stage.
It is now a wait to see just how the Blues perform in their upcoming game and whether Juventus lose or not.
