http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 could leave the club in the summer, since they have not yet gone on to put pen to paper on a contract extension with the club.
The two Chelsea veterans are set to be out of a contract with the club in the summers, and with the team yet to offer them a contract extension, things aren’t looking all that bright for the players and their future at the Stamford Bridge.
The manager had previously been asked about the two, but previously he insisted that the two players won’t be leaving any time soon. However, he has gone on to clear the air and state that he wasn’t able to express himself properly.
“When I was asked the other day, maybe it was a misunderstanding or maybe my English was not good enough, but the situation I know is that they are finishing their contracts [in the summer]," he told reporters.
"Past that, I do not know. I know that Frank is happy here and he is a player that is part of the leadership, he is one of the important players, but I do not know about his future.”
"So I cannot say yes or no, he will stay or he will leave, in January or even at the end of the season. At this moment, I do not know."
He also went on to reveal that his last meeting with the board members at Chelsea didn’t concern the departure of anyone from the club, and that everything was going rather fine for the time being.
"We didn't talk about any players going," he continued. "The board were asking me about players coming but not about any players leaving."
At the moment, it seems like Cole and Lampard are destined to leave Chelsea in the summers. The two have managed to put in brilliant performances for the club in the past, but with their age getting the better of them, this feels to be the right way to go
about their future.
Nonetheless, it is a wait till the end of the season to see just what the duo end up doing.
