At the end of the game, he managed to see the Blues draw with City, which many would have considered to be a rather decent result given the fact that City had just beaten Aston Villa by five goals to nil in their previous Premier League game.

Given that he has only been there for one game, it is a little pre mature to make such claims, but considering the ups and downs the Blues fans have been facing, they might not really be sure of what they want at this point.
Benitez, when addressing the fans and the media after his first game at the club is reported to have said: "I can guarantee you that, because I am focused on the game, I don't listen to the crowd"
"I don't know if they say something or not. For me the main thing was the team and the performance from the team on the pitch.”
"You could see my body language on the dug-out I was just controlling it, trying to give instructions to my players and that's it.”
"When fans are singing for me or against me I don't care. I want to change the perception. How will I do it? By working hard, doing my best and winning games.”
"I said I will concentrate on the game and will not pay attention to anything but the performances.”
