Former Liverpool manager, Rafa Benitez has expressed the hope that he will be back in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, but ruled out the possibility of coaching Liverpool in the near future.
Benitez, who guided Liverpool to Champions League triumph in 2005 against AC Milan, mentioned that he is seeking a managerial post at a Premier League club.
However, the Spanish manager said that he would be glad to re-take the duty at Anfield but thought that it is not possible in the near future. Currently, the Reds are under the management of Kenny Dalglish.
He believed that the Scott is doing an impressive job with the Merseyside team currently and he would love to come back to his former club after Dalglish retires. However, he thought that it did not seem probable in the next ‘ten years’.
"No rush. If Kenny retires in 10 years and I'm available, I would be pleased.
"I want to manage in the Premier League because I know, with my team, we can win trophies."
Benitez left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 on 3rd June, 2010 after reaching to a mutual agreement with the club. A couple of days later, he was hired by Inter Milan as the new head coach of the Serie A side, after Jose Mourinho left the Italian club for Real Madrid.
However, he came under a lot of pressure right from the start after his side slumped to the 6th spot in the league table and lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League. Although he came to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 for a two year term, the Spaniard was sacked
by the club in December, only months after he had assuming duty.
Currently, Benitez is not in charge of any club. He was linked to a possible move to Stamford Bridge following the dismissal of Portuguese manager, Andre Villas Boas. But the former Reds manager quashed these speculations after revealing that he had not
been approached by the Blues.
At the moment, Liverpool are tottering in the Premier League and Dalglish’s job is under scrutiny following a run of lamentable defeats. However, Benitez backed the under-fire Scott and mentioned that he had a lot of respect for the Reds manager.
He said, "I'm a professional and I'm looking for a new job. At this time Kenny is the manager and I have a lot of respect for him.”
“Kenny is doing a really good job. It's a question of time. You never know in the future.”
