Benjamin Stasiulis earns Men’s 50m backstroke gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Benjamin Stasiulis of CN Marseille earned gold medal of the Men’s 50m backstroke on day two of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Friday, November 16.
Stasiulis crushed hopes of his opponents by capturing the title of the discipline. He faced tough contest from his closest swimmer but with his notable form, Stasiulis managed to outperform his over the wall for gold medal.
She was only an inch ahead of his closest competitor and touched the wall for gold medal with a timing of 23.91 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by compatriot, Darian Gandin, who was 0.08 seconds slower from his and posted a time of 23.99 seconds for second position.
Third position of the discipline was obtained by Jordan Coelho of Etampes Natation, who was 0.67 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal by producing a time of 24.66 seconds.
Fourth position of the race was obtained by Joris Hustache of Stade Francais O Courbevoie, who was only 0.05 seconds slower from reaching the podium and ended his race in a time of 24.71 seconds.
Hustache remained half a body length faster from Cyril Arot of SN Versailles, who earned fifth position of the race by clocking an effort of 24.15 seconds.
Afterwards, Melanie Henique occupied the title of Women’s 50m butterfly. Henique showed no leniency to her opponents and reached the top of victory stand for gold medal with an effort of 26.02 seconds.
The champion was followed by Anna Santamans of Olympic Nice Natation, who occupied silver medal of the event by producing a time of 26.44 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Diane Bui Duyet of AAS Sarcelles Natation 95, who was 0.31 seconds slower and posted an effort of 26.75 seconds for bronze medal.
Fourth position of the event was obtained by Armony Dumur of Amiens Metropole Nat., who was 0.19 seconds behind and ended her race in a time of 26.94 seconds.
In addition, Stasiulis and Henique were overjoyed with their title claiming efforts and collected medals and accolades for their exhausting forms after the event.
