Benjamin Stasiulis seizes Men’s 200m backstroke gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Benjamin Stasiulis of CN Marseille seized gold medal of the Men’s 200m backstroke on opening day of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Thursday, November 15.
Stasiulis demonstrated his astonishing efforts in the distant backstroke discipline and outsmarted his opponents over the finishing wall for gold medal.
With his persistent efforts, Stasiulis faced no difficulty from his opponents and paved his way towards the finishing end for the crown with a timing of 1 minute and 52.07 seconds.
The gold medallist was chased by Joris Hustache of Stade Francais O Courbevoie, who stayed two and a half body lengths behind and tapped the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 54.42 seconds.
The second best finisher remained 1.62 seconds ahead of Alexis Cabrol of Dauphins Toulouse OEC, who occupied third position of the race by submitting an effort of 1 minute and 56.04 seconds.
The bronze medallist was chased by Eddie Moueddene of Amiens Metropole Nat., who stayed 1.93 seconds behind and tapped the wall for fourth position by reporting an effort of 1 minute and 57.97 seconds.
Fifth finest spot of the discipline was obtained by Clement Becq of Es Massy Natation, who stayed 0.86 seconds behind his foregoing finisher and concluded his race in a time of 1 minute and 58.83 seconds.
Becq was traced by Nathan Bonnel of Mulhouse On, who was only 0.08 seconds away from his former finisher and ended his race in sixth place by clocking a time of 1 minute and 58.91 seconds.
Bonnel was followed by Paul Pijulet of Aqua Club Pontault-Roissy, who suffered a deficit of 0.73 seconds from his foregoing finisher and concluded his race in seventh place by touching the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 59.64 seconds.
Eighth position of the race was secured by Cyril Arot of SN Versailles, who was half a body length slower and posted an effort of 2 minutes and 00.27 seconds.
Furthermore, Stasiulis received a huge round of applause from the audience for his victory and raked medal at the prize distribution ceremony of the event.
