Benkaat Blue gets the best odds for winning the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby Heat 2
Benkaat Blue has the best odds for winning the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby Heat 2 at Monmore in England on Thursday, March 1, 2012. The 480 metres flat race has a prize money of £175 for the winner.
The grade OR event, which will commence at 19:37 (GMT), will see six runner battling for the top position. Their names are: Benkaat Blue, Slick Saleen, Guinness Kev, Swift Reagan, Millwards Boom and Alien Planet.
At the moment, Benkaat Blue seems to be in a dominant position, as he has been in superb form over the past few races. His last run at Monmore proved to be quite an exceptional one, as he did not allow any other runner to come closer.
M. Wallis’ trained dog was not the favourite to win back then, but his strong showing forced the bookmakers to award him with the best odds today. It will be hard for the punters to place their bets against the victory of the favourite greyhound.
Other than his race victory, the blue dog set an exceptional time in a trial at the same venue. He is expected to continue such a dominant show today as well. The favourite hound is the son of Droopys Scolari out of Star Of Dromin and was born in April 2010.
Slick Saleen, trained by K. Allsop, is another greyhound capable of winning races at this level. He also had a positive run at Monmore, last time around, winning the race comfortably by more than three lengths.
The black and white dog will be expected to give another dominant performance today, but things will not be that easy for him. He is the son of Crash out of Longford Lady and was born in June 2010.
Today’s race will be the first one for Guinness Kev at Monmore. He has taken part in a time trial at the venue, but it will be a different thing altogether, when he races alongside some other quality runners.
However, S. Cahill’s trained hound, should not be taken lightly, as he does have the potential of causing an upset. He is the son of Droopys Vieri out of Miss Modesty and was born in April 2010.
Swift Reagan, Millwards Boom and Alien Planet are the least favourite runners to win today. They will need to be at their absolute best in order to challenge the top two favourites.
