Benkaat Blue to win the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby 2012 Semi-Final 2 at Monmore on 8th March
The Ladbrokes Puppy Derby 2012 Semi-Final 2 is to be held at Monmore over 480 metres on Thursday, 8th March. The race with a lineup of six hounds has a £200 prize money for the winner.
The lineup contesting for the second semi-final includes Scramble, Holloway Road, Rockburst Pearl, Confident Rankin, Benkaat Blue and Camas.
A highly commendable entry among the lineup is Benkaat Blue, Droopys Scolari’s two-year-old blue son out of b***h Star Of Dromin. The two-year-old has been quite active ever since the new season began by having raced nine times already.
His seasonal debut on 10th January at Romford over 400 metres resulted in a victory when he clocked the track distance in 23.92 seconds. Airforce Posh ended the race as a runner up.
Benkaat Blue’s second victory was in the Betdaq Premier League – 1st Round – Leg 1 Puppies on 14th January at Yarmouth over 462 metres. He was entered as a 4/6 favourite and was on the other end of the wire 27.95 seconds while in lead of four lengths. Finishing the closest to the winner was Droopys William.
He did achieve a hat trick only if the victory from the previous year’s final race is counted however, he could not win the third start of the 2012 season which kept him at bay from striking a hat trick in the new season.
After coming second in the Primus Telecom Puppy Derby Trialstakes on 19th January at Henlow, Benkaat Blue yet again threw a pair of victories on his record. He won the fourth heat of the Primus Telecom Puppy Derby on 26th January at Henlow over 460 metres.
Then on 2nd February, Benkaat Blue took away the Primus Telecom Puppy Derby 2nd Semi-Final at Henlow over 460 metres. His momentum for a hat trick again got disturbed because of a third placing in the next start.
Yet again he tossed in two more victories, one on 14th February and then on 25th February. Once more when it was time for striking a hat trick, Benkaat Blue stumbled onto a second position on his last start at Monmore on 1st March.
Today he is expected to follow his usual pattern and post a victory after losing a race.
