Benkaat Boy takes a surprising victory in the Bookmakers Standard Dup

Benkaat Boy notched a surprise victory in the Bookmakers Standard Dup 460 metres Open Race at Henlow on Thursday, January 19, 2012. He was not the favourite to win, but impressed one and all, winning a cash prize of £150.
This was Benkaat Boy’s third consecutive victory, and he will definitely earn more respect amongst the bettors in the future events. He might get the tag of the race favourite next time around.
The triumphant greyhound had a starting price of 8 to 1, and he completed the race distance in 28.77 seconds, after breaking in from trap number two. He got off to a decent start and carried the momentum until the end.
Benkaat Boy was trained by M A Wallis, and he is the son of Crash out of Drive On Tina. He was born in October, 2009.
The second placed hound, Blackrose Bullet, also ran decently and gave a tough time to the race winner. He lacked stamina in the end and wilted to finish second.
Blackrose Bullet had a starting price of 6 to 1, who completed the race distance in 28.89 seconds, after popping out from trap number four. He was trained by E J Cantillon and was the youngest of all participants.
Blackrose Bullet is the son of College Causeway out of Riverside Trixie, and was born in January, 2010.
Third place went to Yahoo Jamie, trained by C R Lister. He clocked an overall time of 29.01 seconds, after breaking in from trap number three. His starting price was 9 to 4.
Yahoo Jamie is the son of Droopys Vieri out of Droopys Perlena, and was born in October, 2007.
S A Cahill’s trained dog, Rayvin Again, failed to make an impression despite having a good starting rate of 3 to 1. He completed the total distance in 29.14 seconds, after going in from trap number five.
Rayvin Again is the son of College Causeway out of Droopys Jackie and was born in December, 2009.
The race favourite, King Jaffa, proved to be a disappointment for his trainer, E McNair. He had a starting price of 2 to 1, but failed to make an impression in the race. He only managed to finish ahead of the least favourite hound, Ministry Missile.
This race would have certainly surprised the bettors, as the favourite did not end up anywhere near to the winner.
