Benn Robinson confident that Wallabies have overcome their scrimmaging problems – Rugby news

Sydney born Waratahs' prop, Benn Robinson, believes that the Wallabies have finally overcome their “scrimmaging” problems. During an interview, Robinson said that the series of scrum camps organised by the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) were a great help in
the team overcoming their shortcomings.
Following his impressive performance for the Waratahs in the recently concluded 2011 Super Rugby Champion, Robinson has been named to Robbie Deans’ 40-man squad for the 2011 Tri-Nations campaign. Deans announced the 40-man squad on Sunday, July 10.
Regarding the camps he said, “The thing about the camp is a lot of blokes are on the same page now whereas in years gone past, guys scrummaging all had different ways.”
Robinson praised the ARU for effectively organising the scrum camps. He added that the presence of all the key forwards including the forward row, second row and back row forwards in the camp made the camps more helpful.
Robinson further added, “The scrum camp was really good, I think everyone has a clean understanding of the way we want a scrummage and it showed in two days. We didn't have any collapses and normally when you're going against your teammates, you're going
pretty hard - sometimes even harder than in a game, I reckon.”
Robinson has termed the scrum a very important part of the game. He further added that with improved scrum-handling and ball- handling at scrum, teams have a better chance of winning matches. He added, “I think the Waratahs this year had a very consistent
scrum and showed that they were able to weave their magic with it.”
Robinson has expressed his delight that the Australian Super Rugby teams have performed exceptionally well in the scrum in the last season. He said, “I think most of the Australian sides have had very consistent clean ball and as I said you definitely pay
dividends off a clean ball off the back of the scrum.”
Wallabies will kick-start their 2011/12 international season with a test against the visiting Samoan side at ANZ Stadium, Sydney on July 17.
