The former Hamburg manager has expressed his delight on landing the job and is hopeful of helping the 2.Bundesliga club avoid relegation.
Bornheimer have hired the tactician after sacking Hans-Jurgen Boysen last week. The club is struggling for results this season and are currently sitting in the relegation play-off place. They are in 16th place with 14
points from the 19 games played and have won only two games in the ongoing campaign thus far.
Benno Mohlmann will take charge of the Frankfurt side after the winter break and is hopeful of helping the club from going down to the third division.
Mohlmann is delighted to take over the managerial place with the club and admitted that he loved the unanimity of the board and the management regarding the club issues and was impressed with the side’s confidence in him.
The boss added that the club feels that relegation can be avoided if there is unity among the players and admitted that the team needs a boost in confidence.
“From our discussions I got the impression that there is both unanimity of purpose among the board and management and a realisation that it's going to be difficult. At the same time, there's a feeling of confidence that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684
can be done if everyone works together and every player performs to his potential,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former FC Ingolstadt manager insisted that the Frankfurt side is well capable of much better performances and is confident that there will be a positive change in the team’s displays when they return in February next year.
“The team are capable of playing better than they have over the past weeks, months or even perhaps the whole year. The players have shown that individually already, and I'm confident they'll do so again,” he added.
FSV Frankfurt will next take on MSV Duisburg on Friday, February 3. They will be hopeful of getting a good result against the 12th placed side to jump out of the relegation zone. It would be a tough task for the club
to avoid the drop with 19 games to go in the season.
