Both of them had great trainers and great wrestling styles. I would say that Michaels was a little better aerial wrestler and Benoit was a little better mat wrestler. If they wrestled 11 times, I think the result would be Michaels-6 Wins, Benoit-5 Wins.

Chris Benoit. Michaels is one of the best to ever step into the ring, but Benoit was leaps and bounds above nearly every other wrestler in terms of in-ring talent.

In my 41 years as a wrestling fan, the best in-ring performer I've ever seen is Chris Benoit.  VERY few have ever been in his league as far as pure wrestling ability and skills go.  And he was just about the most well-rounded wrestler I've ever seen.  He could brawl as well as anybody and he had quite an arsenal of aerial moves.

Michaels is a great wrestler and a good (but not great) high-flyer.  In a pure technical mat-wrestling match, though, Benoit would tie him (and nearly everybody) in knots.  Aerial, they are about even with a slight edge to Michaels.  Brawling, Benoit was better.

Both were/are stellar performers, both could make anybody look good in the ring, and neither ever gave boring performances.

Michaels is great, Benoit is legendary.

Even though I am a huge Shawn Michaels markee, Chris Benoit was better.

To a pure wrestling ability stand point, there was just no one better in the whole freakin world than Chris Benoit. The only person to come close to the man is Kurt Angle. And still Angle would get his *** whooped. :)

To an overall performer stand point, Shawn Michaels wins hands down, actually he beats every wrestler ever in that aspect. Shawn is just the most complete perfomer, one of the greatest ever in the ring, one of the greatest ever on the mic, total pioneer, innovative, moves i havent seen before and moves i see everyday, Shawn is the best of all time.

Though like i said, to a technical wrestling standpoint and overall in ring ability Benoit is just the best there is.

The Dragon (RAW) pretty much picked the words out of my mouth, although it should be:

Benoit is great, HBK is legendary.

If Benoit were to live today, I'm sure he and Michaels would put on a h**l of a match.

I love them both!

Chris Benoit...R.I.P...,but I like Shawn Michaels even better because I grew up watching him the most....So I choose HBK!!!!!!!
