http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international and Aston Villa forward, Darren Bent, wants the club to chase high profile managers if they want to improve next season.
Aston Villa barely survived relegation last season after the club finished 16th in the league, just two points above 18th placed Bolton Wanderers. In fact, there was still a chance for the club to be relegated on the last day, though it depended on Villa losing by a significant margin and Bolton winning by a considerable one.
However, that has not hampered http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358’s optimism as he believes that stability could hold the key to the club’s progress. He pointed out how during Martin O’Neill’s tenure as manager the club saw consistency and development at the club.
Bent said, “Villa under Martin O’Neill, back in the day, finished sixth three years in a row and were on the up before whatever happened, happened.”
The striker then stopped reminiscing of the past and looked to the future when he said, “A new manager will bring stability to Aston Villa so that the club can move forward and grow.”
It seems that Bent is hinting towards the board to take their time and ensure they appoint the right manager who will benefit the club in the long run.
“It’s exciting. We have no idea who it will be but whoever it is I am sure they’ll come in, do a good http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, take that passion for Villa and take us where we belong.”
Aston Villa lost two of their key wingers at the start of the season with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 while Ashley Young also decided to move on to bigger things at Manchester United.
The club was never the same after that and were unable to bring in players of the same calibre as those who had departed resulting in a poor season for the Villans.
Bent concluded, “There are good players and with one or two additions that the manager will have in mind I’m sure we will have a better season than the last.”
Villa fired their previous manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 McLeish, last week and are currently on the hunt for a replacement.
