The French striker has let the public know about his thoughts that the current Champions are still in for a shot at the La Liga title.
Real Madrid striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350 has stated that his team is still in for a shot at the La Liga title and as football promises so many surprises, you can never write the capital side off.
Benzema was imminent that Madrid will do whatever they could to have a say at the title race and writing off the title hopes of the current champions this early in the season is not a good idea at all.
Real Madrid have put up a somewhat un-characteristic start to the recent campaign as they trail arch rivals Barcelona by a mammoth 11 points.
Their dismal performances have seen them placed third in the current La Liga standings and even city rivals Atletico Madrid are ahead of Los Blancos, that too with 5 points.
Benzema insisted that his teammates believed in comebacks and things in football can change very quickly.
If the striker’s wish is to be granted, it will have its own place in the history books as such a point deficit has never been covered in the 103-year history of the league.
Benzema recalled the stats of last year as his team had a 10 point advantage over Barcelona and still had to win at Camp Nou in order to firmly have their grip at the crown.
The striker stated that their recent win over Atletico has instilled some confidence in the side and now they are headed towards the right direction.
“Certainly things were down after the defeat to Betis in Seville. We were a little dejected, but thanks to the nice win in the derby against Atletico, our heads have raised,” he told AS today.”
“Now we are back on track to try and win the League. The championship is not over.”
“Of course we believe we can catch Barcelona! We believe in the comeback, nothing is decided and we will continue fighting to win the title.”
Benzema also featured for Real’s 4-1 Champions League win over Ajax and assisted Ronaldo’s goal.
