I really do need to know if a Benzodiazepine overdose can be fatal...I understand that it has to be large amount. I am curious about it being fatal if mixed with other benzodiazepines or sleeping meds?

  1. It could be, but it's pretty uncommon to fatally overdose on benzodiazepines alone. Fatal overdoses are usually when they're taken in combination with large amounts of alcohol or opiate drugs. There is also an effective antidote to benzodiazepine overdoses - the drug flumazenil, so it'd be unusual to die from it after reaching a hospital.

The fatal amount is pretty large, but benzodiazepines vary in toxicity. Temazepam is the worst.

Excessive amounts of anything can be fatal. Including water.

  2. You can definitly overdose from benzo's.  You would have to take alot, dependant upon your body weight.  Yes if it is mixed with other meds, it can be fatal as well.

  3. Of course it can be fatal.

You'd (likely) need a massive dose.

Benzo's are really not that pleasurable.  You can take large amounts (if u r a regular user) and you'll just fall asleep.
