The Juventus director general has stated that his players played hard in the trophy match, to honour their banned manager for the hard work that he had put in preparing them for the trophy match.
Beppe Marotta has voiced his belief that the win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in the recent Supercoppa Italiana match had a lot to do with Antonio Conte’s pre-season training with the team, and also believes that the players played hard in the game to honour their absent
manager.
The Bianconeri beat the Coppa Italia winners in the recent trophy match played in Beijing, where they downed the Partenopei 4-2 in the extra-time.
The match has sparked much controversy as two of the Partenopei’s players were sent-off before the 90-minute mark, and their manager’s protest also got him suspended.
The Old Lady were missing the presence of their manager Antonio Conte, who is facing a 10-month ban for his role in the betting-match fixing scandal.
Marotta was eager to credit the win to the absent coach, and insisted that the triumph is the result of the impeccable preparation that was given to the boys by the tactician.
The Bianconeri director general went on to dedicate the victory to the suspended manager, and insisted that the players worked extra hard on the field to give the victory to the Italian tactician.
While talking to the press, the 57-year-old said:
“This is Conte’s victory, as he prepared in recent weeks an impeccable performance, while it was also a victory for Conte, as the players wanted to give him this success.”
The Old Lady chief went on to comment on the suspension of Napoli’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Camilo-c8287 Zuniga in the trophy match, which saw tempers run high in the Bird’s Nest stadium, and also saw the losing side boycott the presentation ceremony.
Marotta revealed that according to his knowledge, it was the Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis who stopped his players from participating in the presentation ceremony.
“I only know President Aurelio De Laurentiis said he wouldn’t participate.” He declared.
The suspensions on the Partenopei players and the manager will see them miss their opening match of Serie A 2012-13.
