The Bianconeri sporting director remarked on transfers and the squad at the disposal of Antonio Conte remarked on the prospect of signing Jovetic from Fiorentina.
The sporting director of the Turin giants stated that Juventus would be looking towards signing a world class striker for the upcoming season; to defend their Serie A Championship. At the start of last season, no one would have speculated that Juventus would
be crowned the Serie A Champions, as they had finished in the seventh position for two consecutive years, prior to that.
However, Juventus managed to surprise everyone and themselves to a certain degree, of their accomplishment for the season. The club’s top scorer was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Matri-c4733, who managed to rustle the opposition net on a meagre 11 occasions in the Serie A. Such
an outcome pales in comparison to the top scorer in the Lega, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029, who managed to score on 28 occasions.
Juventus went through a dry spell at the tail end of last season, when they started to draw matches; the need of a proven world class goal scorer was evident from that.
Juventus have been linked with several strikers, with speculation linking the club with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stevan-Jovetic-c34163.
Marotta went on to remark that their target was to provide Antonio Conte with a team that is well rounded and balanced. He further went on state:
“Overall we have made available to Conte a good squad of players, we are happy with the new arrivals, but at this stage we are also considering other market opportunities.”
He further went on to state that every signing came with its pros and cons, but they evaluated the players with respect to their set of objectives and targets.
When quizzed over the possibility of signing the Montenegrin international, Marotta did not hide his admiration for the youngster, and stated:
“Jovetic? He’s a player at Fiorentina that we like, whose profile responds to what we are looking out for, for our objectives, but from here we will talk about transfers as they happen. That’s all I can say out of respect for Fiorentina.”
Fiorentina might be an easier option for Juventus as compared to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, as the ambitions of the teams differ and Napoli are looking to mount a challenge for the Scudetto.
