The Director General of the Bianconeri outfit went on to state his sadness at hearing the comments made by the AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 head coach over the Juve coach, Antonio Conte.
After the trials and tribulations of the Scommessopoli match fixing controversy, Antonio Conte was handed down a ban of 10 months for his failure to alert the appropriate sporting authorities over the matches being fixed in the Lega.
The Scommessopoli case surfaced at the tail end of last year when allegations were made against him by his former Siena player, who alleged that Coach Conte had told the team that the results of the last two matches of Siena were already decided.
However, despite the testimony of the remaining 23 players present in that dressing room that the coach had said nothing of the sort, the one allegation was still held up against him. Conte and his team of lawyers then proposed a plea bargain of 3 months
and a 200,000 Euros fine, however, it was rejected and then Conte went on to pursue the trial without any further requests for a plea bargain.
The verdicts of the allegations were given some time back, and it included four verdicts against Juve personnel. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Masiello-c5692 was deemed to be not trustworthy.
After hearing about the verdict of the case, Zdenek Zeman stated that the technicalities of the ban were unfair. Conte is able to train his players but is not able to conduct his coaching duties during the course of the matches.
Marotta went on to state that it was highly unfortunate that the former Pescara coach made such a statement against a fellow coach, and remarked:
“I think it is unfortunate for Zeman to make such a bad statement. He himself says he does not read the papers, so you cannot give his words meaning. I hope that the President of the Italian Coaches’ Association takes a position on this matter.”
Conte still has till the 20th of August to appeal against the ban that has been put up against him.
