Kurban Berdyev has urged the Russian Premier League club to win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC, telling them that they are capable of defeating the English Premier League club
Rubin Kazan will host Chelsea FC in the return leg of the UEFA Europa League round-of-8 at Luzhniki stadium, having suffered a 3-1 defeat against defending UEFA Champions League champions at Stamford Bridge last week.
The Kazan-based club are facing an uphill battle to overturn a two goal deficit in the return leg of the much anticipated European encounter at home.
However, they can still turn around the situation and progress to the semi-finals of the cup competition on the away goal rule should they manage to score two goals and keep a clean sheet against the Blues which seems a difficult
task.
The Russian outfit’s head coach, Kurban Berdyev, has urged the fans to back their side on Thursday.
There is little arguing to the statement that the Tatary have claimed decent results at home ground after showing quality football, having already defeated teams such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and Levante previously.
And while Rubin have a decent track record of defeating top European teams in the past, Berdyev sees no reason to worry and ask the crowd to get behind their team right from the start of the double legged European fixture.
“The stadium will hopefully be full in Kazan because we are in dire need of support from the fans. The more matches Rubin have played at Luzhniki, the more comfortable the team is feeling. We hope that tomorrow
a lot of fans will come to support us.”
“Chelsea has the advantage at the moment after a good head start. But we will do our best to pass on.”
“I can understand the mood of opposition because last season they won the Champions League. For them, the league will be less important.” The UEFA Cup winner was quoted as saying.
The 60-year-old went on to admit that the London club will try their maximum to win go through the next stage of the continental tournament, having tasted the Champion League’s glory last year.
