Dmitry Samarenkin has hit out at Rubin Kazan’s Kurban Berdyev, saying that the Russian Premier League club’s manager refused to sign recommended players at Tsentralnyi stadium
The former Rubin Kazan president, Dmitry Samarenkin, has spoken about the causes of the conflict with Kurban Berdyev and told that he was refrained from signing a few well-known players during his time at Tsentralnyi stadium.
The 43-year-old Russian played his part at the Kazan-based club after replacing Alexander Gusev. However, he stepped down barely eight-months after taking over following the club’s disappointing sixth-place finish last season.
But it is to be noted that the Volzhane secured an automatic qualification in the UEFA Europa League after winning the Russian Cup
under his leadership last term.
Samarenkin revealed that he was denied a chance to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 FC and Lokomotiv Moscow respectively despite suggesting Berdyev to sign these players.
The Russian national, who helped Rubin to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexei-Eremenko-c4945, revealed that the Tatary would have achieved much more had they allowed him to add the aforementioned players.
“People blame me for the failed transfer but I can confirm that I was restricted to conclude business without Berdyev. On 31 August, when it was my first day at the club, the board of trustees asked me a question: "Are we going
to buy Roman Eremenko?" It was the last day of the transfer window and I said yes.”
“I made every signing by closely monitoring him under a magnifying glass. I agreed with the coach for Kallstrom’s transfer. It took a month to persuade Berdyev. But the manager refused to sign him at last moment,” Samarenkin was
quoted as saying.
Samarenkin went on to tell that he further suggested Yanbayev’s name to Rubin coach, who subsequently refused to meet with the player’s agent. He lamented the situation and said that Berdyev became a stumbling block in his way
to bring quality players to Kazan.
However, the Russian national insisted that he holds no personal grudge for the manager but admitted that the 60-year-old's mysterious behaviour irritates him.
