Rubin Kazan manager defends his latest signing, Sergei Davydov, and urged the Russian outfit to step up in the Russian Premier League.
In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, Rubin Kazan drew 1-1 against Spartak Moscow, courtesy goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Sharonov-c31644 and Emmanuel Emenike for Rubin and Spartak respectively.
The Tatary failed to take the home advantage and conceded an equalizer in the second half at Tsentralnyi stadion. Both sides had to settle for a point after 90 minutes of gruelling action.
In the aftermath of the outcome, Kurban Berdyev lamented the situation and urged his team to work harder for the remaining matches of the ongoing season. He warned them against complacency and assured the fans of a better
defensive display next time around.
He went on to defend his latest acquisition, Sergei Davydov, whom he signed during the winter transfer window from Kuban Krasnodar. The Turkish tactician named the Russian striker in the starting line-ups after his arrival
from the Cossacks last month.
The former Torpedo Moscow striker impressed Berdyev with his eye-catching performances last season, netting 9 goals in all competitions before making his move to the Kazan-based club.
“He looked good in his first game. I think he needs to develope full understanding with the partners, but I'm satisfied with his acquisition.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Adding to the latest arrivals, Rubin managed to hold on to their defensive line during the transfer window. Berdyev went on to express his satisfaction over the current squad at his disposal. However, he urged the Kamni defenders
to work harder for the remaining matches of the campaign.
Speaking on the upcoming crunch league encounter against Lokomotiv Moscow, the Soviet top league winner revealed that they will be without the services of Sharonov and Jesus Navas for the upcoming encounter.
“Sharonov and Navas received eighth yellow card of the campaign. And Bocchetti is not over disqualification yet. We need to fix defensive problems.” Berdyev said.
