Berfore/ After the interview....?

i was called in for a position at the hospital. When I arrived they asked me to sign a consent for a background check.they took my finger prints and everything typically, would they do this if they plan to hire me??? I do understand that these checks cost money.

after ...we completed the interview.

the interviewer says she has to go over my application with her manager. i was pretty nervous during the interview..bbut I answered all the questions. after that she went over benefits and where I would go for health ***. and drug screening (if hired) It was odd I never was provided info like this before them hiring me...when she was walking me out she says call her if I have any questions. after the interview I email her ta thank you letter ...3 days later I havent heard anything from them so I decided to call, unfortunately the call went straight to her voicemail.. I left a message. Havent heard from her... I'll wait PATIENTLY this time.. any thoughts on the outcome?

Hopefully they hire you.  I'm guessing since it's taking longer for them to get back to you, maybe they're looking over your application with a fine tooth comb.  Maybe you're the best candidate, and just waiting to call you before she gets the okay from her manager.
