Bergamo beats Mirador to grab bronze ware at the Women’s Club World Championship
The 2010 FIVB Women’s Club World Championship had an amazing run from December 15-21 in Doha, Qatar. Six women teams embarked on the scene to catch the limelight. There has been some thrilling action on the court, which kept the volleyball enthusiast entertained
the whole time. Italy’s Foppapedretti Bergamo was also on the board to contest their skill and capability in front of the international audience. The Italian Women’s team staged a stellar performance and captured the third slot in overall women’s ranking in
the Club World Championship 2010.
The Italians met Dominican Republic’s Mirador in the last encounter on Tuesday, December 21, 2010. The match spanned on four sets and ultimately Bergamo proved to be too good for victory. They claimed the match with a score of 3-1(25-8, 23-25, 25-8, and
25-15). The winners of 2009 and 2010 CEV Champions League grabbed another honour in the form of bronze ware at the Club World Championship. Italy’s Lucia Bosetti played an instrumental role in her team’s victory. She clipped 20 points with the help of explosive
attack attempts and solid blocking on the net. Likewise, her teammate, Serena Ortolani registered 17 points in Bergamo’s score. Davide Mazzanti, the head coach of Italian team expressed delight about the wonderful performance of his team.
First set

to team after an injury. She had great potential to deal with the rival side. Bergamo’s team opened the match with smashing shots. They produced commanding serves and hit unstoppable spikes. The ball perfectly landed in Mirador’s half and helped Italy’s score
to rise up. Ortolani came strong on Caribbean team and didn’t allow them to attain stability in the game. Mirador was down with too many reception errors, which caused them major damage.

and directed it to the gaps. The Italian side continued with success and stretched the gap of points to 16-6. Mirador failed to stand the deadly strike of Italian team and progressed at snail’s pace. The Team Italia remained consistent in hitting the ball
