years.
Before the mass exodus that took place this summer, the Italian outfit parted ways with Andrea Pirlo, as they could not afford to give him a two year contract. Pirlo came back to haunt his old club as he was instrumental in the Scudetto victory of Juventus.
Massimiliano Allegri felt that Pirlo did not have much left in his engine and did not feel that he will be good for the next two years. Pirlo proved his doubters wrong in epic fashion as he became the leading assists holder in the Serie A.
The Rossoneri outfit accepted Paris Saint-Germain’s bid of 60 million Euros for Silva and Ibrahimovic, and Berlusconi stated that it was not possible to overturn such a bid. He further reflected on the enormous wages that Ibrahimovic and Silva commanded
and that it was not feasible for them to keep hold of their players.
He went on to state:
“It was impossible for us to reject Paris Saint-Germain’s offer for Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva. It has saved us a lot of money in transfers and wages, meaning our finances are secure for the next three or four years.”
Berlusconi went on to remark that they had to keep the upcoming Financial Fair Play regulations in mind when deciding on the sale, and the new regulations would have bought the club more worries had they held on two their two players.
The Rossoneri chief further remarked:
“I’m convinced that we won’t miss Ibra in attack. At the back we have a new signing in Francesco Acerbi who we believe in and the market is still open. We only need to strengthen in defence.”
