Bermane Stiverne ready to take on Ray Austin in WBC title match – Boxing news
The Canadian Heavyweight professional boxer, Bermane ‘B. WARE’ Stiverne is scheduled to take on the American professional Heavyweight contender Ray Austin in their 12-round WBC Silver Heavyweight Championship bout on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Family
Arena in Saint Charles, Missouri, United States.
The 32-year-old, Orthodox stance, Bermane Stiverne is returning to the ring after winning a second round technical knockout decision against Kertson Manswell of Trinidad and Tobago on January 1, 2011 at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan, United States.
The 40-year-old, Orthodox stance, Austin is coming back to the ring after being defeated by Odlanier Solis of Cuba in their 12-round WBC Heavyweight Title Eliminator bout in December 2010 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, United States.
Austin fought 37 of his total fights of which he won 28 competitive bouts including 18 knockout wins with five considerable losses and four draws in his professional boxing career.
The manager of Stiverne, Camille Estephan said, “I was with Bermane in St. Louis. I am pleased to see that he is in excellent shape after his camp in Las Vegas. A camp in which he sparred with former world champion Hasim Rahman, in addition to David Rodriguez
and Rafael Zumbano at the HIT Factory Gym, we are very confident and excited by the opportunity presented to us against Ray Austin on HBO. ”
The former Canadian Super Heavyweight silver medallist, Stiverne turned a professional contender under the authority of Don King promotional company when he went against Roy Matthews at the Plex North Charleston in South Carolina in 2005. Stiverne has knocked
out his first 11 opponents with his trademark left hook.
Ray Austin faced the only loss in his career when he lost the fourth round technical knockout decision against Demetrice King at the Harbour Yard Arena in Connecticut, United States in 2007.
Austin challenged Wladimir Klitschko on March 10, 2007, and lost the second-round knockout decision at the SAP Arena in Germany. Austin’s most recent victories were against Domonic Jenkins, Andre Golota and Julius Long.
Hopefully, the fight between the two rivals will be interesting and fascinating to watch.
