Bernard Hopkins says there is going to be a lot of drama for the fans – Boxing News
The Executioner, Bernard Hopkins, will be one-on-one against the WBC light heavyweight champion, Jean Pascal, on May 21 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. The fight will be televised live on HBO. This clash is a rematch of their December 18 fight, which ended in a draw.
The future Hall of Famer, Hopkins, in attendance to his workout held yesterday told the media, “Fans can expect drama this time around. I am going to throw a lot of punches. I am going to be out of character in the way I fight this fight. It won’t be the Bernard Hopkins people have seen the last couple of years...I am going in there with one objective...to win by any legal boxing means necessary and then get out of there with the record broken and the titles won.”
He further added, “I am the professor and Pascal is the student.” He said that sometimes students start thinking as if they know more than their teachers, but it’s not true and one should teach them every now and then about it.
He also claimed that people need to put in their 100 percent to match his 50 percent. Hopkins is pretty confident of winning the championship, as he revealed that he has been training hard in Philadelphia just to remind himself that he still has to go into the ring as a hungry man who always wants something.
The 46-year-old, Hopkins, admitted the fact that Pascal is a new lion in the jungle and wants to prove himself, but on the same note he said he is an old lion with a lot of experience.
In the meantime, he also highlighted the fact that now there are healthy food items available in the market, as compared to the old times, and he is taking full advantage of it.
The fight between these two pugilists is being sponsored by the Casino de Montreal, Videotron and Coors Light and it will be presented by GroupeYvon Michel and Golden Boy Promotions.
