Bernard Hopkins vs Kelly Pavlik?

Who would win in a fight between a 2000/2001 Bernard Hopkins vs a current Kelly Pavlik, at middleweight?

I might have to give the edge to Pavlik because of height and boxing skills...And the thing about it is I like Hopkins but Pavlik......Thats a tough match for Hopkins....Period

Pavlik has proven that he can adjust and exploit a fighter's weakness and he has also proven in his second fight with Jermaine Taylor that he can last 12 rounds and still have enough power and be energetic enough to finish strong. This would be bad news for Hopkins who gives a way early rounds hoping to dominate the later ones. Pavlik would be too far ahead in the middle rounds just due to his volume of punches and Hopkins would have to start taking risks. Thus Pavlik would land more in the later rounds and hurt Hopkins. I think Pavlik would score at least one knock down and earn a unanimous decision.

Pavlik is looking like a 160 lb version of the George Foreman that decimated the heavies.  But Pav is much better at pacing himself.  Pav batters Hopkins, but Bernard makes it go the distance for an easy decision win for KP.

hopkins was good beat some top men was not a mover but has a good chin.

kelly is a better mover not much better not  got a good chin but wont give up has a big heart .

pavlik is the harder hitter and hopkins would have to go toe to toe, as tough as hopkins is i think at that at time it  would suit kelly better thats what pavlik is about trading punches.  so i go with pavlik as hopkins i say was better a little bit later in life not much later. hopkins had a bit of luck as when he beat tito that fight was put back for 2 weeks after SEP 11th NY. tito may have got  to the weigth limit to soon so may of not been at his best with a 2 week delay  hopkins became a star over nite as was the biggest sporting event after sep 11 and fort at the gardan so you open your paper the next day hopkins is there with the flag around him thats why alot took to him plus it helps that you that you are a very good boxer some times they need a bit of luck same goes for pavlik as that 1st title fight on some orther day may of been stoped  ?? but you cant knock hopkins as he can figth  like thatat 43 not meny can

Hopkins. Just watch the Trinidad fight, at the way Hopkins took Tito completely out of his gameplan.  I see a lot of the same thing with Pavlik.  I think B-Hop is crafty enough to not get hit cleanly, and I think he frustrates Pavlik with his tactics.

B-Hop TKO12, very similar to his fight with Tito.

I dont know about that Ruddiger, I think Tito has every bit of power Pavlik has.  but its a good debate.

B-Hop he was just too good, to smart. A true tactition. It would have been a close fight because Pavlik does have his awsome power an height.

With all respect to Hopkins, he was great,  but Pavlik was just too big for him. You can't compre Trinidad he didn't have close to the ammount of power Pavlik has.

I would not count Hopkins out by any means, he could come up with some game plan and offset Pavlik and earn a decision. But more then likely Hopkins would foul and hold to avoid getting knocked out and Pavlik would win a decision.

But again, against Hopkins you never know.
