While talking to the media, Olympique Lyonnais sporting director, Bernard Lacombe spoke about his dream XI for the club and also spoke about his fears regarding the club’s future

His outspokenness is legendary and his rants can outperform legions. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 sporting director, Bernard Lacombe never misses an opportunity to express his deepest thoughts and is a man who is really worried about the future of the club and his
future as well for that matter.
For now, the Frenchman is refusing to imagine a season without Champions League but is fully aware that the glorious era of 2000s is now behind him.
While talking to media, the right-hand man of president Jean-Michel Aulas admitted that he always knew that his team’s unprecedented success would never last forever.
In a fairly open interview with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 Football, the special advisor to Aulas spoke about the dream Olympique Lyonnais team that has played in the Champions League for the last 12 years.
Lacombe named former goalkeeper Gregory Coupet and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350 .
“In the end, it is impossible to choose. I put either Coupet or Lloris. Reveillere, Abidal and Cris-Cacapa would be my defenders. Claudio (Cacapa) was a tough man and had great pace. Cris was great in the air.”
“Essien, Diarra and Juninho had everything: impact, endurance and technique.”
All these aforementioned players except Lloris, Cris and Reveillere have moved on to the next chapters of their respective playing careers but are still in the hearts of Lyon faithful including Bernard Lacombe who has certainly done a lot for the club.
Most of the chosen players in this list were a major part of Lyon’s seven consecutive Ligue 1 triumphs and were one of the most exciting teams any French club ever produced.
However, those days are long gone and what people now see is a Lyon side that has not won silverware for long. Furthermore, Les Gones might not feature in the Champions League at all given their standing in Ligue 1 so far.
