Bernard Roos reckons it is the right time to beat Mikkel Kessler – Boxing news
Mehdi Bouadla’s promoter Bernard Roos reckons it is the right time for his fighter to beat the former two-time World Boxing Association and World Boxing Council Super Middleweight champion, Mikkel Kessler.
The World Boxing Organisation’s number five, Mehdi Bouadla and the Danish pugilist Mikkel Kessler will take on each other this Saturday, June 4, 2011 in a 12-rounder at Copenhagen, Denmark.
This fight is going to catch a lot of media coverage, as everyone wants to see the Viking Warrior (43-2, 32 Knockouts) back in action. The bout will broadcasted live in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
Though Kessler will be fighting in the biggest football stadium in his home city, team Bouadla believes the World Boxing Council Super Middleweight World Champion, Kessler, would be in his best form, as he is coming back in the ring after a fourteen-month
break.
“In life, it’s all about timing, and now is the time to beat Kessler,” Roos told the media at the PARKEN Stadium. “Kessler is a great champion and in six months he would beat everybody, including Ward and Froch, but now after his long break Mehdi “The Bull”
Bouadla will rise to the occasion and defeat him.”
However Bouadla, who has won 22 of his 25 fights with 10 knockouts, admitted the fact the 32-year-old Kessler is a very good fighter and cannot be beaten easily. He said there will be a lot of disappointment for his fans.
“I respect Mikkel but I am here to win. I think the long break has made him rusty. This is my ticket to the big fights. There will be a lot of disappointed Danish fans on Saturday night,” said Bouadla.
Meanwhile Kessler responded to the statements and said he has been training hard and is in an excellent form.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I have trained hard and I am in excellent shape. It’s great to be back.”
