Amidst a tantrum that has been raised since the dismissal of Paris Saint-Germain coach Antoine Kombouare, former Olympique de Marseille owner Bernard Tapie has given his take on the unceremonious sacking of the Kanak coach
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 football quarters were shaken a few hours ago after rumour broke out that Paris Saint-Germain had fired coach Antoine Kombouare.
The Kanak coach ended the first half of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign with Les Parisiens on top of the standings. However, the Ligue 1 win at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard against AS Saint-Etienne was to be the last time Kombouare guided PSG to a win.
Earlier in the morning, it was reported that the Frenchman was to have a meeting regarding his future with the club. However, before anything was made official, a source close to Kombouare, broke news of the coach’s sacking as many players, pundits and presidents
were shocked with the announcement.
However, out of all the mess that has been created, former Olympique de Marseille president Bernard Tapie has given a somewhat fair and eye-opening view of Kombouare’s sacking.
Tapie, a sports enthusiastic, bought http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 and brought the likes of Jean-Pierre Papin, Eric Cantona and Enzo Francescoli to a club that would then go on to win four consecutive Ligue 1 Championelles and would be the only French side to win
the UEFA Champions League.
The business tycoon knows all about the risks of investing heavily in a club and said that firing of Kombouare was eventually going to happen sooner or later.
“Is it conceivable to terminate a contract of someone who’s leading a side? The answer is yes. Simply because of the firm conviction of an owner who is putting his money to right the wrong and who believes that with another coach, the team would be better,
which is not guaranteed,” Tapie said before suggesting that QIA and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 both have taken a huge risk.
“Bonjour if they are wrong because then everyone in the stands would scream,” Tapie added.
What Tapie has said is certainly an advice to whoever becomes the new coach of PSG as the club would certainly be looking to generate results right away which would make things hard for even the best coaches.
