The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has showered praise on the duo and rates the Werkself as second best against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
Bernd Schneider believes that both Gotze and Reus will definitely be assets to Borussia Dortmund, and that the duo can play a key role in helping the Borussians achieve new heights in the future. He expressed his delight on Dortmund’s
acquisition of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733, and is looking forward to see him in action from next season onwards.
The Borussians agreed to sign the striker from Borussia Monchengladbach for a transfer fee of 17.5 million Euros after monitoring his performance this season. Reus has had an outstanding season so far with the Borussia-Park outfit,
and is currently the leading goal scorer for the Foals this term.
Schneider insists that Dortmund will develop into a fearsome force once Reus and Gotze play together from next season onwards. He mentioned that it will be exciting to see the Reus-Gotze partnership and admitted that it will be
extremely pleasing to the eyes watching them play.
"These players can sometimes decide a game on their own. They are technically very sophisticated. It's great fun to watch them. They are very unpredictable and technically strong players who look for one-on-one situations and can
win them.”
On the other hand, Schneider reckons that his former club will be the underdogs going into the UEFA Champions League game against Barcelona. He stated that Werkself will find it difficult to dislodge the Catalan giants who are
the current European champions and firm favourites to retain their crown this season.
"The chances are low for sure. But no matter against who they were to have played, it would be a tough task. As the Champions League winners they currently have the most outstanding team in the world and have lots of great individual
players. They will be very, very difficult," Schneider concluded.
Both the teams will lock heads on Tuesday, February 14, for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round-of-16 tie before meeting again on Wednesday, March 7, for the second leg.
