Bernd Schuster insists Bayern Munich are better off without Arjen Robben- Bundesliga news
Former Real Madrid manager Bernd Schuster has claimed that Bayern Munich are better off without Arjen Robben. He insisted that the winger is selfish at times and that it would be difficult to adjust him to the new Jupp Heynckes
system.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 is currently injured with a groin injury and faces up to one month on the sidelines. The Dutch international started the season well and was instrumental in the club’s both legs against FC Zurich in the play-offs of
the UEFA Champions League.
Schuster stated that Robben could be a problem when he returns from injury. He insisted that Heynckes’ system relies on passing and build up play whereas the Dutchman is selfish at times and is stubborn.
“I do think that Robben is a problem for Bayern this year. I think the philosophy of the team is different under Jupp Heynckes. Robben is incredibly stubborn,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Los Blancos manager admitted that Mario Gomez and Franck Ribery are important players for the Bavarian outfit this season but the presence of Robben overshadows their performances. He added that the winger could also
slow the game down as he looks to make individual opportunities.
“He does what he wants to do, regardless of [Mario] Gomez and [Franck] Ribery's positions. Of course he has class, but this is a problem. Their game at the moment is fluid, he may slow it down,” he continued.
Schuster also hinted that he could be back to management and a return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 could be possible with Hamburg, who are performing rather poorly this season. Rothosen are currently bottom of the table with one point from five
games and have lost four times already in this campaign.
“If a coach has no http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, HSV are always interesting. At some point I'd like to be back in the fold in Germany. I have had two or three opportunities to come to Germany,” he concluded.
Bernd Schuster, as a manager, has won the Copa del Rey with Getafe and guided Real Madrid to league glory in the 2007-08 season.
