Wiesberger said, “Out there on the greens I really felt like I saw the lines perfectly today and I putted the ball nicely”.
Wiesberger is now leading the event by a jaw-dropping five shots from his nearest contender Marcus Fraser.
The 33-year-old Australian is looking for his third European Tour victory and although he played well on the third day, he was not as brilliant as the raging Austrian.
Also a Challenge Tour graduate, Fraser has been lurking in shadows for a considerable period of time and is hoping to bag a title heading into the heat of the summers.
He said, “I felt really comfortable out there, hit a lot of good shots inside 20 feet, and just couldn't get anything going”.
Coming out of a strong five-under, 67 on the second day, Fraser pulled in a humble three-under, 69 on the third to fall behind the leader by a colossal five strokes.
He will now need a miracle on his part or a disastrous round on Wiesberger’s part if he ever wants to lift the title on the final day.
Fraser lauded the exceptional form and putting of the young Austrian and reckoned it is already too late to be hopeful.
Fraser added, “I felt like I was playing chase out there most of the day and trying to keep up. Bernd is playing great - so much game and definitely a star of The European Tour to come. He's obviously a great player now but he's got big things in front of
him, that's for sure”.
Fraser started off from back nine and carded his first birdie of the day at the 11th and another on the 14th.
He dropped his lone bogey of the round at par-five, 15th and made the turn with a birdie on the last hole.
Hoping to curtail the scoring of the racing Wiesberger, Fraser started off at the front nine but barely manage to stay even-par at the opening holes.
He was only able to card a birdie at par-four, 4th to fall below the leaderboard. He is now trailing Wiesberger by five shots.
Fraser believes Wiesberger is rightly positioned to card his first victory on the European Tour and thinks the Austrian is all set to accomplish the feat on the final day.
