Ramsay added, “Obviously the fact that he's a really nice guy - I played with him a few times on The Challenge Tour - and he's a top-class guy. If you're going to get beat by somebody, it might as well be Bernd because he's a good guy”.
After winning the U.S. Amateur Championship he turned professional in the year 2007.
He also played on the Masters, The US Open and the Open Championship following his qualification as a low amateur.
Playing on the secondary Challenge Tour for a considerable period of time, Ramsay earned his tour card for the mainstream European Tour in the year 2009 and retained his playing status with some strong performances in the season.
Ramsay also lauded the excellent playing conditions at the Blackstone Golf Club, overlooking the scenic industrial hub.
The course is located adjacent to the giant industrial zone of Seoul and provides a breath taking view of the metropolis.
He said, “Ballantine's has done a fantastic event here. The sponsorship has been brilliant, the tournament has been run fantastically well, and it's great to come here and obviously there's a lot of people out here today which makes it good to hit some nice
shots”.
Frenchman Victor Dubuisson finished for a joint third alongside Fraser, following another strong round of six-under, 66 on the final day.
Dubuisson had also shared an early lead in the opening round of the event and was hoping to finally climb the leaderboard to land his first European Tour title before Wiesberger broke into an uninterrupted spree of leading the following rounds.
Further down the leaderboard, Englishman Anthony Wall and Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez finished for a joint fifth after carding rounds of 67 and 69 respectively.
This was the fifth edition of the star-studded Ballantine’s Championship which had a whooping purse of €2.2-million.
The event is co-sanctioned by the European Tour as well as the Asian Tour.
Last year’s winner Lee Westwood was not part of the field this year to defend his title, which thereby made space for the rising European Tour players to make their move.
