Fraser said, “I think I made just six birdies for the weekend. It’s frustrating - I had a lot of chances yesterday and a few chances today but didn't take them. I think I played the par fives in one under for the weekend. I’m going to finish seven shots
behind, and with the par fives, that's the majority of it right there”.
Fraser has won twice on the European Tour including the Ballantine’s Championship in 2010 where he took over the Northern Irishman Gareth Maybin and Australian Brett Rumford by a huge four-stroke margin.
Fraser has won thrice on the Challenge Tour and his total professional victories in his career amounts to five.
Scotsman Richie Ramsay shot a brilliant seven-under, 65 alongside Australian Adam Scott, pulling in the lowest score of the day to finish for an outright runner up in the event.
The 28-year-old Aberdeen native is searching for his second European Tour victory after he soared to the top of the leaderboard with a victory at South African Open Championship in 2009.
He played stunning golf throughout the last season, pulling in no fewer than six top-ten finishes but was not able to card a victory.
Nevertheless, Ramsay was jubilant with his strong finish and hoped to carry on with his blistering run till he lands a title this year.
He said, “I'm really, really pleased with the round, it's been fantastic. You never want to lose - being a golfer, we always want to be the one that wins”.
Ramsay lauded Wiesberger and praised his outstanding performance in the event which saw him bag the title with an overwhelming margin.
Ramsay also started off from the front nine, where he carded a humble score of three birdies in the nine-hole stretch and did not a drop a shot before making the turn.
Utilising docile conditions at the Blackstone Golf Club, Ramsay pulled in no fewer than four birdies on the back on consecutive holes, closing his round for a strong seven-under, 65. He finished five shots behind the leader.
