Bernhard Langer keeping it real at 54, the BMW International Open welcomes the oldest golfer in the tournament!
Bernhard Langer is proving, once again, that he can still play golf at the age of 54. He is eyeing the BMW International Open to ignite the passion for golf yet again with his entry.
Langer seems enthusiastic and believes that he will be at the top of his game at the BMW International Open. He is looking forward to battling it out against the top lot.
“I will do my best to be up there with the front-runners, you never know how things will turn out, I have been really successful in the USA in recent months and my swing is in good shape. We'll just have to wait and see how things pan out,” said a confident
Langer.
The 54-year-old has been good with his money. He made around $900,000 with the Seniors Tour alone and with the International Open, he is set to add more to his account.
The golf scenario has changed phase after the US Open. It was Webb Simpson who won the tournament, while the top ranked players, including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald, left the US Open with a bad taste.
Age has never been an issue for Langer, with his consistent form and brilliant stroke play. It would be a surprise if the 54-year-old fails to enchant the crowd at the BMW International Open.
Stephen Gallacher is in amazing form at the BMW International Open and started off the tournament with breathtaking swings.
Gallacher had six birdies that boosted his position at the leader-board.
It has been a bad year for experienced golfers. The rookies have been dominant throughout the fixtures and have proved that passion is above every attribute that a golfer possesses.
Webb Simpson’s US Open win has driven him beyond Woods or Phil Mickelson. The US Open no longer belongs to the two legends and it is about time they ignite the passion of winning once again.
Bernhard Langer is going smooth with his game even at 54. Woods, McIlroy and Donald should take notes from the 42-time European Tour champion so that they may progress in their craft.
